Acnefree Skin Tips For A Clearer Complexion

Acne can affect anyone at any age. While you may never have acnefree skin every hour of every day, some simple precautions should at least reduce the frequency of outbreaks. The first thing you should do is to buy a medicated acne face wash and use it twice a day. Acne solutions containing benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid are an effective way of maintaining acnefree skin.

Match the best acne product to your skin type and the severity of your acne. Dont use strong products if your skin is already nearly acne free, and if you have sensitive skin choose products containing salicylic acid over those containing benzoyl peroxide, which is more likely to dry and irritate skin. Similarly, gels are better for oily skin and creams are better for dry skin. If you have combination skin, and you get spots in your T-zone use a gel. Always use water-based cleansers and makeup that dont clog pores. Oil-based make-up will make your acne worse.

Avoid wearing sporting equipment such as straps directly against your skin, if you can. Sufferers of body acne or bacne should try not to wear tight-fitting sports clothing that doesnt breathe properly. This clothes trap sweat, oil and dirt in pores, causing blemishes and spots. To control spots on the back of the neck, keep hair clean, especially if its oily.

Stubborn Blemishes

Use spot-drying treatments for stubborn individual spots, but never use them on acnefree skin. These often contain powerful ingredients that can irritate sensitive skin so use with sparingly and with caution.  If you have cystic lesions or large spots that take a long time to heal or leave scars behind when they do, always see a doctor or health professional.
