Acne Skin Care Products Fighting Bacteria For Great Looking Skin
Bacteria are a prime cause of acne. They get into skin pores and lead to the painful blemishes of acne. Controlling bacteria will help you control your acne, and there are many acne skin care products to help you do this. The most well known are perhaps antibiotics. Doctors will prescribe antibiotics such as erythromycin, tetracycline, and doxycycline for moderate to severe acne, especially if acne scars are starting to appear. Topical antibiotics may be used for less severe acne, usually in the form of a lotion with antibiotics in it. Other bacteria-killing topical acne products are those containing essential oils or herbs. Bergamot oil, tea tree oil, lavender will all kill bacteria when used to treat acne. Tea tree oil even has bacteria-killing agents called terpenoids so not only will you kill the bacteria but you will leave your skin feeling and looking much better.
Many people prefer the natural path to killing bacteria as natural products can be less irritating to the skin but just as effective as acne-fighting chemicals, if a little slower-acting. If you buy a brand-name acne skin care product, it may contain a bacteria-fighting chemical called benzoyl peroxide, which is particularly efficient at killing bacteria. Be careful though as it can irritate and dry the skin. For first-time acne blemish control, use a product with a low amount of this harsh chemical.
Acne Clear Light Treatment
Lastly, the battle with acne bacteria has even given birth to new technologies. Acne clear light treatment, for example, zaps bacteria with an intense blue light. This treatment is still rare, but quick and pain free.
